“AZADI: Freedom” Official Trailer from b4apres media on Vimeo.

Full disclosure: My friend Anthony Bonello (of B4Apres Media) is the creator and director of this film. This fact however, doesn’t change the fact that I am legitimately intrigued with what he has come up with. His upcoming film, Azadi: Freedom, was recently selected to premiere at the International Freeski Film Festival in Montreal, and has attracted the eye of notable bloggers such as Steve Casimiro. The trailer is short but beautiful, and hints at a ski film with a story that goes beyond “we went here, we schralped that.” The film will feature the skiing of Forrest Coots, Colin Puskas, Chad Sayers and Peter Velisek, not to mention local Kashmiri skiers Billa Bakshi, Yakub Dunoo, Arif Khan and Showkat Ahmmad. Dare I say I am less interested in the skiing than the story behind the region, the ski area and the conflict that has affected both? I dare. Keep an eye out for this one. – Mike Berard

I noticed that AZADI: Freedom will be showing in our part of the world at the upcoming Banff Film Festival, on opening night no less!
I love the fact that the film will feature local skiers, and by the looks of it,they can hold their own!
Thanks for the trailer and I look forward to learning the full story in Banff.
